A wake up call came to me one year at my annual physical when my Doctor made the following statement to me: " Either you get your diet under control or find a new Doctor! I will not be responsible for you dying on my watch!"
Well to say the least those words woke me up and thus began the quest to leave my old ways and work to improve my health. The results of this was the beginning of 'Old-Soldier' rubs and seasonings. The research I did on labels and from my Doctor proved that I didn't need all the salt and sugar I was consuming because most products contain these items naturally.
Below is a fresh salad created with spinach, tomato's, feta cheese, sweet peppers, & raisins. Then I created a salad dressing using the 'Old-Soldier' salad seasoning. The dressings is made as follows:
> 1/4 cup Olive Oil
> 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
> 2 TBSP of 'Old-Soldier Salad Seasoning'
Blend all three ingredients and stir. When you stir the coffee releases giving the dressing a slight black color. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss. The seasoning brings out the best in the mix.
Another positive about this dressing is you don't have to store it in the fridge! That's right there is nothing to spoil so make it up in a jar or decanter with a lid and place it on the shelf in your pantry and remember: "Enjoy life this is not a dress rehearsal!!" ENJOY!
